gives a smoother ground surface than

standard diamond instruments with an

identical grit size.

The coarse grit surface produces a ground

surface appearance similar to grinding

with a medium grit size diamond instrument.

Therefore it is possible to use a fine

grit sized instrument directly afterwards

for finishing the preparation.
