When working with an electronic waxing-up unit special demands are made on the wax used. GEO Avantgarde modelling waxes are precisely developed for this technology which seeks to preserve the raw materials. The ideal modelling properties are maintained thus leading to precise results.
- excellent flow properties and low contraction for modelling the exterior tooth shape (GEO Avantgarde universal).
- excellent rigidity and strength for forming occlusal surfaces (GEO Avantgarde occlusal).
- owing to their different qualities GEO Avantgarde modelling waxes cover both sets of requirements
GEO Avantgarde universal
Ideally suited for quick coverage of large areas with wax. Ideal for modelling bridge elements.
- low surface tension.
- low melting point.
- small contraction on hardening.
- excellent fl ow properties.
GEO Avantgarde occlusal
Fulfils all requirements for modelling occlusal surfaces.
- high strength - no abrading of contact points.
- behaves in a plastic manner to accentuate the relief.
- high rigidity.
- can be easily drawn due to its high surface tension.
- ideal for filigree occlusal modelling.
- opaque appearance for defined contours and permanent control during modelling.
What is the difference between occlusal and universal wax?
An occlusal wax differentiates itself by its greater surface tension and high rigidity. The surface tension allows ball-shaped drops to form and harden. This behaviour eases your work considerably in the waxing-up phase. The increased strength guarantees precise modelling even with wax crown to wax crown preparations, without vertical adjustments. The advantages of universal wax lie mainly in the excellent flooding properties and its ability to be used in many areas.
